Who handles your information
Rational Solutions, LLC operates SparkMingle.net and is responsible for the personal information handled through this service. Contact us at support@sparkmingle.net for privacy questions and requests. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use SparkMingle.
Information you provide
- Account information: email, date of birth, password stored as a hash, required policy acceptances, and optional marketing preferences.
- Profile information: legal and display names, gender and partner preferences, approximate location, relationship status, children, biography, religion, physical characteristics, interests, and compatibility answers.
- Media and verification: uploaded photos and, when you submit an identity-verification request, identity documents and supporting photo/video evidence.
- Communication and support: Sparks, Email, Chat, reports, blocks, support correspondence, and related moderation records.
- Purchases: payment-provider identifiers, transaction/subscription status, purchased products, and entitlement history when you purchase an available paid feature.
Profile answers may reveal sensitive information, including religion and relationship preferences. Share only information you are comfortable making visible to eligible members and do not put identity documents or financial information in your biography or messages.
Information from using the service
We process IP address, browser/device information, sign-in and session records, security events, and activity needed to operate and protect the service. Session cookies help keep you signed in and protect requests. See the Cookie Notice. Information in a report may be provided by another member.
Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, show eligible profiles, support member-directed profile searches, filtering and sorting, deliver messages, apply membership limits, process purchases, review verification submissions, handle reports and Support, prevent abuse, maintain records, and meet applicable obligations. Members choose whom to contact. Search results may be ordered by activity, account recency, verified status or other available sort options. We do not choose individual partners for members, and search placement is not a guarantee of compatibility or relationship success.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to provide the requested service, meet legal obligations, pursue legitimate operational and safety interests, or follow your consent. Where required, we ask for your separate consent to process sensitive information or provide optional services.
What others can see
Eligible signed-in members can see permitted profile fields and approved media, subject to tier and visibility restrictions. Messages are available to their participants as permitted by membership, deletion, and expiration rules. Account email, private last-name information, verification evidence, and payment details are not public profile fields.
Authorized staff may review information, including relevant messages and identity evidence, for support, verification, safety, and legal purposes. Member messaging is not end-to-end encrypted. Private account areas are restricted to authorized access. Another member may nevertheless copy or capture information they can see.
Sharing and service providers
We use Hostinger to host the service and Stripe to process payments when paid checkout is available. We share information with those providers as needed for their functions. Identity and photo submissions may undergo automated checks, human review, or both. These reviews are not criminal background checks. We do not currently use advertising or analytics trackers or a separate identity-verification provider. We will update relevant disclosures when the providers or purposes materially change.
We assess requests from law enforcement and public authorities for legal validity, authority, scope, and proportionality. We may preserve relevant account data in response to a legally valid preservation request and disclose information in response to valid legal process or, where law permits, to address an imminent threat of serious harm. We do not treat an informal request as blanket permission to provide private member information. Our public law-enforcement protocols explain the process. A business transfer may involve information subject to appropriate protections and notice. We do not sell member personal information. We do not offer private member messages or verification documents for advertising.
Providers may process information outside your country, including through international hosting infrastructure. Applicable safeguards and obligations depend on the processing involved. Contact Support for information about providers and safeguards relevant to your information.
Retention and deletion
Chat messages expire from your account after five days and Emails after ten days from creation, unless extended retention applies. Moving an Email to Trash does not restart its expiration. An available retention subscription can keep eligible messages accessible for up to three months from creation; it cannot restore messages that have already expired.
Expiration or deleting your copy removes access from your account. It does not unsend a message or immediately erase every stored copy. Relevant records may remain for moderation, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Access is restricted to authorized purposes, and a legally valid preservation request, legal obligation, or documented investigation hold can extend retention for records relevant to that purpose.
We retain identity-verification submissions and rejected media only as needed to complete reviews, handle appeals, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Financial, security, consent, and audit records may be retained for the applicable accounting, dispute, compliance, or abuse-prevention purpose. Retention depends on the type of record, the purpose, and any applicable legal requirements.
To request account deletion, contact support@sparkmingle.net. Account deletion is separate from deleting individual messages. We will explain any information that must be retained and any applicable recovery period when handling your request. Residual copies may remain in backups until those backups are replaced or expire. Other members may retain copies they have already received or saved.
Your choices and requests
You can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, or an available portable copy by emailing support@sparkmingle.net. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, or opt out of certain uses. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You do not have to create a new account to make a privacy request. An authorized representative may contact us, subject to applicable verification requirements. We may reasonably verify identity before responding. We will explain relevant limitations, including other members’ privacy or legally protected records, and respond within applicable time limits. If we decline a request, you may ask for review by replying with “Privacy appeal.” You may also contact your applicable privacy regulator.
Marketing consent is optional and can be withdrawn through the unsubscribe method in a marketing message or Support. Necessary account, safety, and billing messages are separate. Selected activity digests should follow your notification choices.
Security and adults only
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and service. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee prevention of every unauthorized access or loss. This does not waive our responsibilities or your rights under applicable law.
SparkMingle is for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a minor has an account or has submitted personal information, contact Support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Policy updates
We publish the current version and revision date here. Material changes will receive appropriate notice, and additional consent will be requested where required. Questions can be sent to Support.
